You will only ever start repaying your loan back when you are earning over a certain amount, this currently stands at £26,575 for Plan 2 students (post-2012 study). Plus, only 9% of earnings over that threshold will ever be counted towards repayments. Threshold for Plan 2 students (post-2012 study) currently stands at £26,575 in yearly earnings. This figure is set to rise annually in line with ‘average earnings increases’ to £27,295 from April 2021.
